On July 16, 2024, Board of Education approved changes to the personal electronic devices policy. All changes can be found in the Student Code of Conduct & Parent Handbook as well as in Policy 7:190 Student Behavior.
Get Books from Our Vending Machine
We are so excited to have our new Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine in our building, thanks to our families and supporters. Our scholars can earn gold coins then choose a book from the vending machine that will be theirs forever.
Encourage Positive Bus Behaviors
Parents, we need your help to make sure our scholars know what's expected of them on our school buses, and what behaviors will not be tolerated.

Each week we celebrate our Fierce Scholars who meet and exceed their goals by recognizing their success and ringing the Success Bell!
Classroom Learning Communities
Parsons Elementary was the first school in Decatur Public Schools to adopt the classroom learning community model school-wide, giving students ownership, voice, and choice in their classrooms.

Parsons Elementary is one of seven neighborhood elementary schools in DPS, serving Kindergarten through 6th grade students on Decatur's north side.

DPS is committed to enhancing educational success for our district through a comprehensive strategic planning and master facility plan. Beginning in October 2024, work to craft a road map that addresses the needs and aspirations of the Decatur school community will take place.
